Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Prepare the coloured balloon
Start by blowing up the coloured balloon, then let it deflate to stretch out the latex/rubber.
Cut small, circular holes around the outside of the coloured balloon.
Cut off the neck of the balloon.
Step 3: Fill the clear balloon
Blow up the clear balloon and let it deflate. Then add about 1 teaspoon of confetti or glitter to it. (You can use a funnel to make this easier.)
Carefully insert the clear balloon into the coloured balloon.
Fill the clear balloon with water until it's full. Again, you can use a funnel to make it easier, if you'd like.
Step 4: Close off the stress ball
Tie a knot in the clear balloon, trying to remove as much air as possible.
Your pop out stress ball is complete!
Now have fun squeezing your DIY balloon stress ball, watching the glitter and clear balloon pop out from the holes in the coloured balloon.
Helpful Tips:
- Try cutting different shapes or smaller holes in the outer balloon to see what difference it makes.
- You can also add beads and other add-ins to your pop out stress ball. Keep reading for more ideas!
What type of balloons do I need to make a pop out stress ball?
You need 2 types of balloons to make this DIY stress ball: 1 clear balloon and 1 coloured. The colourful balloon on the outside can also be a patterned balloon, if you’d like.
Whichever balloons you buy, be sure that they’re the same size. Most regular balloons are 12 inches.
Normal, coloured balloons are easy to find at the dollar store, but you might need to go to a party supply store or craft store to get clear balloons. You can also buy all different styles of balloons on Amazon.
What can I add into this pop out stress ball?
We added sequins, translucent pony beads, and letter beads to our stress balls. You can also use glitter for a sparkling and mesmerizing effect.
Or try using different styles and shapes of beads, water beads (aka Orbeez), pom poms, mini foam balls, sequins, or even slime! Don’t add anything that’s too heavy or too sharp, or else your balloon stress ball might pop.
How can I safely and easily fill this pop out stress ball without making a mess?
We recommend using a funnel to add sequins or glitter to your balloon, and a small teaspoon to add the beads. You can also place the balloon in a small bowl to steady it, and work over a rimmed baking sheet.
Then use a funnel to easily add the water without worrying about spills. Only add a little bit of water at a time so you don’t overfill the balloon!
Whether you need to unwind after a hectic day or just want to keep your hands busy, this pop out stress ball offers endless fun and relaxation!
Fill the clear balloon with shimmering glitter or colourful beads, creating a visually captivating and soothing sensory experience. It’s the perfect way to have fun and unwind after a long day!
